The coach answered, this time. "About to the west--the last ones using tents." He said, swinging his rifle over his head. "Down!" Axelle ducked, and a shot was fired. It was soon followed by the sound of a dropping body, and they ran on. "Hurry! Out!" The coach barked. Axelle was the first one at the enterance, and gasped from outside. Anna's eyes quickly dialated, and she put on a glare. Her gun was ready as she, too, stepped outside. What she saw made her almost feel sick all over again. She was beside Axelle's side, who was on the ground, unconcious. She had a major gash on the side of her head. "You bast--Ugh!" She knocked an enemy soldier over the head with the butt of her gun. They backed away. The man in charge was no other than her trusted general from above ground. And there he stood--a proud, smug smirk on his lips. "My own brother-in-law." She growled as the men surrounded her. She did not look at the coach--he knew what to do. "Oh, please." The General said, rolling his eyes. "You really fell for my charade?" He asked, walking closer. Her gun was aimed at his heart. He looked up to Anna's eyes, which were carefully trained to look empty to the human eye. However...he knew he had caught her off guard. He laughed as he circled around her. "I am surprised how my brother's widow is acting. And to have thought you could have proved of great use to our forces." "After seeing that YOU aren't living up to your family's legacy?!" She glared harder, if this was even possiable, and kept her voice strong and calm. His smirk faded like a popsicle in the sun... ...and the battle was on.

Dash emerged from the tunnel just in time to see Axelle take the hit to the head from the butt of an enemy rifle. Anna retaliated and excanged some rather poisenous words with their commanding officer...their commanding officer. He looked oddly familiar, like a face from a dream, or...Dash's eyes widened as he remembered. The face hovered above his blurry vision, tears running down the side of his face at the pain. He was so heavily fastened down he couldn't even flinch as they cut into him, probing, exploring, the explosion of pain so great that he could only gasp and scream until his throat was too hoarse to scream anymore. There were three faces, the Scientist, the Torturer, and... Him! He had been there, through some of the medical procedures at least. Dash's memory was flawed at best, but this man was there when they had done this to him. His rage boiled over and he gripped his sword, the thousand needles puncturing his flesh as he squeezed, feeding his life blood into it. He steped from the shadows and into the swirling melee, cutting a deadly swath towards the figure of the general. He paused behind him, staying his hand for an instant. "Do you remember me?" He said, his voice like a layer of quickly melting ice over a boiling river of lava. "I'm your monster. I'm your child." He grinned, an expression that would make the devil cower. "Now you reap what you sow. Your troubles end here."

Anna didn't take her eyes from the man. "You KNOW this man?!" She asked, vehnemantly. The man did not take his eyes from Anna, knowing she was to attack if he was to look anywhere else. "Oh, I know he remembers me, me peche." He said to Anna. Anna looked slowly to her left to where Dash stood, and was knocked to the ground. She let out a startled scream when she was pinned to the ground and pierced with...something...thin? She looked to her right hand to see him dragging a scalpel from her palm toward her elbow. Anna did not even know that the scream she heard was hers. "You, Widdow..." He growled. "I will do exactly what I did to your dear husband...and dear friend!" He pointed to Dash. "After I get rid of him for good!" Within seconds, he was flying through the air, aiming his own sabers at Dash.

Dash leapt backward with the onslaught, instead of forward. Blocking, always parrying, but never attacking. The general handled himself with the skill of a trained fighter but that was nothing compared to the nanite fueled strength and agility of his oponant. And yet...Dash simply ran, backing away as he deflected cut after cut. Rage boiled just under the surface, not just natural anger, the blinding, bloody rage of the Mobius gene locked just under the surface of his consiousness in a boiling river about to burst to the surface. He tried to draw his oponant as far from the others as possible. The last time he had activated the gene he had awoken in the twisted wreckage of a small town, bodies scattered around like rag dolls, Nahzi soldiers and innocent civilians alike. He shook his head to clear away the hellish nightmares and screamed, a hint of panic tinging his voice. "Anna! RUN!!!" He knew that in his berzerker state he would recklessly attack any living human whithin his line of site until everything around him was dead, or he went into a Burnout phase and fainted. At last he could hold it back no longer, and let the scalding flood of rage burst through the dam of his will, hand flying to the hilt of his sword. Red clouded his vision and he knew no more.

With a heartfelt cry, Anna pulled the scalpel from her elbow and hopped right up. ...Only to wish she was back down, again. Her eyes widened with fear for her friend, who seemed to be possessed with...something oddly familiar. With something she had only seen in labs... And on her dead husband. A scene blinded her from her last moments with Derek...Valentine.
Her heart pounded painfully as she ran to keep up with Derek, her hand clasped tightly in his, tears clouding his eyes. He suddenly stopped then looked at her, gently placing his slender hands on her shoulders. "Lee..." He had always called her. "Whatever happens, don't stop running. Don't look back." Anna only smiled and laughed a once light, beautiful laugh. His lips melted into a smile, and he brushed her cheek with his left hand. Tears fell from his eyes...and Anna's cheerful glance turned to a worried one. "Wh-" She whispered, but was cut off by the sound of soldiers running nearer. He quickly kissed her and pushed her away, toward the direction of freedom. "GO!" He said, a deadly calm in his voice. Anna cried out. "No!! Not without--" Her eyes widened as a bullet passed by her ear, nicking it. "RUN!" He yelled when he saw her instinctivly clutch at her ear. It was then that he let out a cry and clutched at his chest. She fell onto her rear when he transformed right before her eyes...into someone she did not know, anymore. He clutched at his head, yelling in pain. "Lee...don't...look...close your...eyes!" Anna did as she was told, but was dragged away off to a distant place... ...by his brother. And they saw him die.
Anna heard Dash warn her to run, but she could not. She would not close her eyes and just let him get hurt!

Anna Valentine would figure out a plan.

In his natural state Dash was an excelent combatant, between the subconsious fighting subroutines embeded deep whith in his brain through hours of training and torture, the nanite assisted strength and reflexes and the additional strength of a piston driven robotic limb he was nearly undefeatable. In Mobius Rage, however, he became an absolute machine, an automation for one purpose and one purpose only. To end the lives of others. To wreac havoc. To destroy, defile and cut. To kill. In a word the House of Nahz had built him into the supreme embodiement of all their highest ideals. Is the artist greater than the vandal? What the one creats through hours of effort, through tallent, will power and skill the other can destroy in an instand, with as little thought as the flick of the wrist. What power is greater than the power to destroy? And destroy he did. The General was first, his screams allerting the remaining members of his squad to the presence of the threat. As one they turned on Dash weapons readied, the extreme discipline of their intense military training taking over. Wrong move. Dash tore through them like a wolf in a coop of chickens, blank eyes staring blandly as the body moved with the intent crafted in hate and forged in the awful crucible of Nahzi science and mental manipulation. It was a slaughter.

Anna breathed deeply, and summoned the earth with her mind. This was the only way to take him down...right? She let the earth swallow Dash with yet another mudslide. "STOP!" Anna was tackled to the ground by yet another man. They wrestled until Anna saw his face.
A million flashbacks assulted her mind as beads of sweat began to pour down her face. "D-derek..." She grunted as he tried to push her back into the quicksand that began to form behind her. "GET A GRIP, ANNA!" She screamed aloud. Her emotions were out of control! "What's wrong, little Lee?" He taunted with her favorite smirk. Anna began to relax, but then noticed something else. "Derek would NEVER fight with a gun!" She cried, then pushed him back, harder. "A-and he..he...NEVER called me Lee in public!" She screamed, then pushed him away from her. She grabbed her sabers from the ground, then ignited them. "Public?" He said, smirking. "Now, really, Anna. You couldn't kill me even if you wished it." He said. Anna wore a calm expression. "No, I couldn't kill Derek." She said. "Replicas of someone so dear...so personal--I can!" With that, she summoned quicksand to form all around the still-smirking Derek look alike. "You will never be happy, little Lee." He said. Anna only watched. Her heart began to self-destruct when she saw a version of Derek die again...before her eyes. It was then that the feeling of the scar upon her lungs lifted, and the consistant feeling of a cough left for good.

Dash...no. Not Dash but the ruthless machine that Dash's body had become, devoid of reason, compassion or restraint moved like lightning. As the earth started to shake and quake under him he leapt, enhanced muscles carying him much higher than the poor soldiers around him who were swallowed up almost instantly. But no matter how high he jumped, he had but one place to land. When his feet touched the seething animal that the ground had become he was sweapt under almost instantly, legs and arms pinned into inaction. As much as he struggled he could not free himself and as he lay there his mind cleared, the bliss of rest calming his insane rage and enabling him once again to gain controll of his faculties.

"Sleep, Dash." Anna said, slowly, whispering. "You need the rest." The Coach was gathering Axelle up into his arms, his head slightly bleeding. Anna sighed, knowing they had to get a move on. She pulled one of his arms over her shoulder, and began to help him toward where the Coach was going.

Dash limped along, barely consious as a heavy blanket of fatiuge settled over his shoulders like the crushing weight of a mill stone. Heavy lidded he glanced around, taking in the carnage, scattered bodies, and broken earth.
"That...that was just a patroll."
He forced out, trying to stand but falling back onto Anna. He knew that he was close to a Burnout phase and would fall into it if he pushed himself much further. And so he rested some of his weight on her, holding as much as he could carry on his own.
"There will be more. We should be gone from here."

Anna nodded, biting her lip under his weight. "We know. We're heading to where they had attacked last." Anna said. "That one camp to the East. The one they finally left for forsaken. We shall find some sort of refuge there."
