Anna screamed in frusteration at her thoughts. She, of course, did not really think all that straight when in a crises, but it usually helped. She had to help him! She needed to find out why he was doing this! "HOLD ON! I'M ON MY WAY!" She shouted to the mystery man. After running up to the muddy mess, she thought a command, and the mud and rocks cleared, leaving the man somewhat in the open. She cautiousally moved to the man's side, seeing if he would breathe.

Dash filled his lungs with air, gasping like a fish as the earth flowed away from his face just enough to breathe. He was still held immobile, but the dirt moved as tho it was beholden to the will of some greater...girl. He realized that she was a geomancer. No wonder she had defeated him. To attack a geomancer in the middle of a canyon was hardly advisable. And yet...he was breathing, wasnt he? The feeling of relief that felt at not having to override in order to break free was only matched by his puzzlement over the woman before him. She could have killed him. She was a Nahzi soldier. Trained to kill. Trained to kill him. Confusion coulded his mind at her apparent kindness. "You could have killed me." He said it starkly, neither a querry or a demand. Just a statement.

Anna looked away from him. "I couldn't kill one of our own." She lamely replied. Or...Anna thought. I just can't kill... With that, she walked to pick up her sabers, then hooked them to her shoulders. "But, then I wonder...why you would want to kill any of our allies." She stood up straight, then finally got to have a good look at this man who could have killed her. With a slight tilt of her head, she couldn't help but ask. "Who are you?"

Dash tasted grit and sour hatred in his mouth and he spat. Dash did not get angry. Ever. On the rare occasion that he did he was ferocious and vindictive. His lnormal icy calm curled back into a snarl. "Understand this. I am not one of you. I will never be. I can never forgive you people for what you have done. You killed Gartog, Marius, Rianna. You made me into this...monstrosity. I have seen Nahzi methods. I have had them used on me. You torture heartlessly. You kill with out remorse. You have no reverence for the sanctity of life. You are evil." The venom in his voice would have made a stone weap, the accusation, hatred and bitterness rising to a crecendo as he ranted on. "I am a slave. I am a rebel. I am Dash Rendar. I am Project 13a. If you are going to kill me, it had better be right now, because when I get out of here I won't show you any more mercy than you showed the innocents you slaughtered in Axis city. I defy you, and your entire regime." He stopped, glaring hatred at the girl who had spared his life.

It was Anna's turn to glare. How dare he! She was NOT like those groupy soulders!!! She found her hand on one of her sabers, and held it to his throat. "Read my lips." She began, her voice stronger than she felt. "I. AM. NOT. LIKE. THEM. My intentions are not for you to know! You have NO idea what I endured in Axis City. Maybe if you talked to the right people instead of KILLING them, you'd find out what my unit was like!" With that she pulled the weapon away from his throat, the silver band on her ring finger glinting from the lightsaber. She took the rest of the mud away from his form, setting him free. "Leave. The others must be looking by now."

Dash's mind was rife with confusion. This was the second time she had been on the verge of killing him and had failed to do so. He did not understand. Here she was, a servant of the Nahzi ideals and yet she did not seem evil. He did not allow his inner strife to enter his voice, however, as he arose from the ground. He regained controll of his temper, clamping down once again on the boiling furnace just under his surface and forcing it deep down into himself. He spoke with icy precision, his voice devoid of emotion, his eyes dull. "I do not understand you. I am your enemy. You had the perfect opportunity to kill me. And yet here I stand. You say that you are not like them, and yet you wear their uniform, obey their laws, carry out their bidding. Do you not understand that anything you do will only further their evil? You are a hypocryte, if you will admit it or not." He turned and started walking away, the muddy blood dripping from his fingers. He could have killed her now, but he did not. He could not tell why. He told himself that it was because she had spared his life. His empty thoughts drummed against his skull like the slow cadence of his dully marching feet.

Anna sighed, shaking her head at his baised opinions. She had done nothing he had accused her of; of course she was only in it for the information as to how her husband had disappeared. Why should she tell HIM, though? She was not even a soldier when Axis city was invaded. Axis city was where her husband had dissapeared, when still on their vacation. That...was where she had to chose sides. He had told her to stay alive, stay on the strongest sides. She replaced her weapons in their respective holstiers, quickly making a dicision. It was the only way she chould possiably slow him down. She silently took her gun, loaded a high-powered tranquilizer, then shot for him. Bullseye. ...She knew he would definately think that he had her figured out by the time he woke up.

Dash's eyes widened as he heard the click of a slide being drawn back and the distinctive 'thwip' of a high velocity tranquilizer gun being fired. He felt the needle slam into his back just below his left shoulder blade. He didnt have time to move, to react. He fell to one knee, the fast acting poison spreading though his body and shutting down his nervous system. Normaly he was immune to poison, his accelarated metabolism and integrated nanites working it through his system before it could affect him. For this to be working on him meant that it had to be specialy formulated to take someone like him down. His breathing became laboured and fell the rest of the way to the ground, moving weakly and futiley. She shot him! In the back! First she could have killed him, and then didnt. Then she let him go, and shot him in the back with a tranquilizer. The last, insane thought to go through his brain before he finally lost consiousness was a sudden and incongrous spike of humor, a wry reaction to what he percieved as the ironic hilarity of a grim situation.

After finally getting over what fear she had of this guy, she found herself half-carrying, half-dragging this guy back to camp--about five miles away. Of course, she did not want to be seen, so she decided to take the underground passage to the refuge lounge. This was where she helped others who have been targeted by Nahzi. Nahzi, as she had known it, was too complicated in operations to be able to find ANYTHING under their noses. "Ooh! Anna! What have you dragged in THIS time?" Her friend, Axelle asked as she ran over to help Anna get the guy onto a bed in the corner of the room. Anna sighed, rolling her shoulders back and quickly doing stretches to unwind her muscles from tightening too much. "I think his name is Dash Rendar." Anna said, taking a seat by Dash's bed. "And he should be waking up at any time now. He thinks I'm actually one of THEM."

Dash. Daaaaash. The soft voice floated out of his memory and acrost his subconsious mind. He was running, running on his short little legs towards the source of the voice. The air was filled with a translucent quality, as tho viewed through water. He saw her, but coud not make out her features. He was running, suddenly aware that something terrible was just behind her. He tried to cry out, but his voice would not respond. His vision dimmed red and suddenly there were a thousand tendrils of steel, razor sharp, feeling. Probing. Around and over and into him. The pierced his flesh with...
"AAAH!" Dash sat bolt upright, staring wildly. It took him a moment to remember what had happened, and another to register his surroundings. He was in a small room, possibly under ground. There were no windows. He was not bound, but his sword was...no, that wasnt right. He had left his sword back at camp. He had been out running and then...The girl! He turned around and there she was, with another female. She was armed, he was groggy from the sedative. He decided to play it safe and backed away, dropping into a combat crouch with is mechanical arm forward.
"Where am I?" He demanded. "Who are you. Who is she?"

Anna heard Axelle scream and jump away, while Anna just stood in her spot. She did jump, but not as drastically as Axelle had. A sigh escaped from her lips as he demanded answers. "If you sit down..." Anna said, taking the weapons from her back and disarming them before putting them in the corner of the room. "...then you will get your answers. Kapeche?"

Dash sat back on the rough sheets, still wary but not the victim of the origional panic that had gripped him as he came around. He striaghtened slightly to a less threatening pose and took another step back, taking stock of his situation. She had dissarmed herself, and seemed to mean him no harm. However, he had no idea what tricks she could have up her sleeve, and he was in her territory. He was running low on bio energy and lowered his reflexes back to normal human levels, along with his increased muscular exertion and senses. It was odd to be operating at strictly normal levels, as he was so used to the enhancements the implants gave him. Along with the loss of his increased stats a wave of exaustion flooded into him and he sat heavily on the bed, trying to conceal his weakness. Never show weakness to an enemy. A potintial enemy. He amended in his thoughts, taking looking around once more.
"Who are you," He began again, calmly but severely. "And where am I?"

Anna watched him calm down, then felt the energy level return to normal in the room. She sighed, again, and took her seat. "I am Annalyse Swie." She began. "And you are in the refugee inn underneath the Nahzi base. Don't be alarmed--we know how the enemy--Nahzis--work. We knew where the best place was to shelter those against the Nahzi movement." She paused, then went on. "I am sorry that I have made the wrong impression, but you DID hurt those who were undercover." It was then that she went into one of her coughing fits. She motioned for Axelle to take over for her, while holding a hankercheif to her mouth and hurrying out of the room.

Dash fought down an expression of horror as he realized his error, Light, was everyon in that unit... He dropped his head into his hands, cursing himself for his rashness. He could not count the times that acting with out thinking had gotten him into trouble, but this time...innocents had suffered...no. He refused to excuse himself. Innocents had died because of him. When Anna started hacking and staggerd from the room he stood, wobbling only slightly as he followed her into the next room, basic human concern momentarily overcomming caution and shame. He brushed past Axelle, concern in his voice as he asked whether Anna was all right.

Axelle touched Dash's arm, shaking her head and gesturing back to the bed for him to sit back down. "It was the accident." Axelle said, her face drawn in solumn dispair. "Back when she was vacationing with her husband. In Axis City...the Nahzis attacked while they were on their balcony of their hotel room. It...hurt both of them in ways unknown to even me." Axelle had taken knitting materials from a bag, then began to knit. "Don't worry. She's pretty tough. I don't think this has happened in awhile, though." It was then that Anna came back into the room, muttering something about being paged about the troubles in the canyon. "Have to make up something..." She said. "And tell the others to be ready for anything. Should we organize a meeting...say...tomorrow?" Anna looked to Axelle, who nodded in agreement. "Very well. Dash--" She said looking at him with a smirk. "Get some rest and if you need anything, just ask Axelle to assist you." With that, Anna left to deal with the wolves.
